His last lesson was simple and devastating: living unexamined is worse than dying. Socrates became philosophy’s first martyr, turning relentless questioning into a way of life. He reminds us that real thinking is dangerous, that authority hates doubt, and that sometimes the most radical act is simply asking, “Why?”
