EU and UK Consumer Rights

Returns, Refunds & Legal Guarantees

The East Utopia Trading Company wants every customer to be happy with their purchase, wherever they live. Our standard Refund Policy can be found here.

Our standard 14-Day Money-Back Guarantee — No Questions Asked applies to all customers, including those in the European Union and United Kingdom. You don't even have to return the product.

Customers in the EU and UK also enjoy additional consumer protections established by law. These rights apply independently of our voluntary money-back guarantee.

Your Right to Change Your Mind — 14 Days

Under EU and UK consumer protection laws, customers purchasing online generally have 14 days after delivery to cancel a purchase without giving a reason.

EUTC makes this simple. Contact us within 14 days of receiving your order, tell us you would like a refund, and we'll take care of it. If an order arrives in multiple shipments, statutory withdrawal periods may run from delivery of the final item.

You don't need to explain your decision, provide photographs, or ship anything back.

For customers exercising their statutory right of withdrawal, we will refund the purchase price and applicable standard outbound delivery charges. Refunds will be issued to the original payment method, without additional fees, within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal request.

To exercise your right, use the email contact provided on our Returns & Refunds page. A clear email requesting cancellation is sufficient. You may also use the optional withdrawal form at the bottom of this page.

European Union — Two-Year Legal Guarantee

Under EU consumer protection law, customers are entitled to a minimum two-year legal guarantee on products that are defective, not as described, or otherwise fail to meet applicable standards of conformity.

This protection begins when the product is delivered. Some EU member states provide additional protections or longer guarantee periods.

Depending on the circumstances, customers may be entitled to a free repair or replacement, a price reduction, or a refund. These remedies are provided according to applicable consumer law.

During at least the first year after delivery, a defect that becomes apparent is generally presumed to have existed at delivery unless the seller establishes otherwise. Some EU countries extend this presumption to two years.

United Kingdom — Consumer Rights Act 2015

UK customers have statutory protections for products that are faulty, not as described, or not of satisfactory quality, including reasonable durability.

These protections include a short-term right to reject faulty goods, generally within 30 days, and rights to repair, replacement, or other remedies where appropriate.

Certain claims can be brought for up to six years in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland, or five years in Scotland.

These periods are not unconditional product warranties. Whether a product is defective depends on its nature, expected durability, use, and the circumstances of the claim.

What If Something Goes Wrong After 14 Days?

We stand behind the products we sell.

If you believe your product has a manufacturing defect, develops an unusual problem, or fails to meet reasonable expectations of quality and durability, please contact us.

To help us evaluate the problem, we may request:

  • Your original order number or other proof of purchase.

  • A description of the problem and when it appeared.

  • Photographs showing the defect, where reasonably available.

  • Additional information about the product's use or care, when relevant.

We'll review the circumstances and work with our fulfillment partners to determine an appropriate resolution consistent with your statutory rights.

Normal wear and tear, accidental damage, and damage resulting from improper use or care are not generally manufacturing defects.

We aim to resolve legitimate complaints fairly, promptly, and without unnecessary inconvenience or expense to our customers.

Repairs, Replacements & Refunds

For products that fail to meet applicable legal standards, EUTC will provide the remedies required by law, without charging customers for remedies that must legally be provided free of charge.

Depending on the circumstances, this may involve a replacement, repair, partial refund, or full refund.

Our ordinary voluntary replacement policy, including its price and sizing limits, does not restrict any replacement or other remedy required by applicable consumer law.

Our Commitment

EUTC is a small, independent, print-on-demand business. We don't maintain warehouses full of replacement merchandise, but we do take responsibility for the products we sell.

We believe consumer protection laws serve a useful purpose: businesses should deliver what they promise, and customers should receive products of reasonable quality and durability.

We intend to honor both the letter and spirit of those obligations.

Nothing in EUTC's voluntary return, refund, or replacement policies limits or excludes your statutory consumer rights.
